Compliance
Scanlume compliance overview
This page explains what Scanlume sells, how customer orders are fulfilled, and which controls keep billing, credits, and OCR API usage separate from third-party API resale.
Product scope
Scanlume sells an OCR workflow for images and PDF files. Customers upload screenshots, JPG, PNG, photos, or PDF files, choose simple OCR or formatted text, and receive editable output for their own work.
Scanlume is not a pass-through reseller of third-party API access. Customers buy Scanlume web plans, API credits, product UX, export tools, account limits, support, and billing records. Customers do not receive upstream API keys, upstream provider accounts, raw upstream credentials, or the ability to call upstream model providers directly through Scanlume.
Order and fulfillment flow
Paid orders are initiated from the public pricing page and account area. Creem checkout and webhook events tell Scanlume which product was purchased, which billing email was used, and whether the payment or subscription is active. Scanlume then grants the matching web plan or API credit pack inside the customer account.
Credits are non-transferable, tied to the buying account, and used only to process OCR inside Scanlume. Credits do not represent stored value, cash, cryptocurrency, gift cards, remittance, or a payout balance. Scanlume has no user-to-user marketplace, no seller onboarding, no customer payout flow, and no way for a user to convert credits back to money.
Infrastructure and subprocessors
Scanlume may use upstream infrastructure for OCR, AI processing, hosting, storage, email, abuse prevention, and payment operations. These providers are internal service components used to deliver the Scanlume product. They are not resold as standalone access, and customers do not choose, manage, or receive credentials for those providers.
Payment details are processed by Creem. Scanlume stores only operational billing data needed to provision access, such as product id, billing email, payment status, subscription period, and webhook references.
Risk controls
Scanlume applies account authentication, daily limits, file limits, API key limits, per-tier rate limits, browser or IP abuse controls, signed billing webhooks, and manual support review for payment, refund, privacy, and abuse issues.
Public policies are available at Pricing, Terms, Privacy, Acceptable Use, and Contact. Billing support is available at suporte@scanlume.com.
